a king spoke of shame,
as that legacy of simpletons,
deluded to buy lies coaxing itchy ears.
i’m taking heed that i’ve stood lest i fall again and i’ve reread scripts, made sense of encrypted words once engraved in the tablet of my heart. i now perceive wisdom found in gaining understanding, it’s more precious than rubies, than profits of silver and fine gold.
it’s like foregoing everything,
to eat from that tree of life.
Yours truly,
Shirlin
