malignant like that tumor sneaking up on you, crippling the stealthy steps made forward. losing breathe, heart and faith to the noises whirring, waging war in a mind. suddenly, the castle you’d built with great hope crumbles, i still see the broken glasses you tread on, marring your feet to this end. but you didn’t realize, you still don’t, still unaware—oblivious of the causative of this fear that trails your frame.
and it lurks in the shadow, silently waiting for you to dare take another step.
